“Taio Cruz has reached the top of the iTunes chart in the US with his single ‘Break Your Heart’.
The track, which topped the UK chart in September 2009, has been re-recorded to include rapper Ludacris.
Writing on his Twitter, Cruz said: “Thanks everyone who has bought ‘Break Your Heart’ in the US. You’ve made it Number 1.”
‘Break Your Heart’ is expected to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 on the week of March 13.
The 26-year-old has previously penned and produced tracks for artists including Ke$ha, Kylie Minogue, JLS, Tinchy Stryder, Cheryl Cole and Sugababes.
Cruz released second studio album Rockstarr in the UK in October.”
